Here are some instructional designs and UI/UX projects I created throughout my coursework and work experience, focusing on user experience and effective learning strategies.Projects
Media Platform Usage and Media Literacy Competence
This study aimed to explore the relationship between college students' media platform usage and their media literacy competence. Given the undetachable role of media in our daily lives, the study focused on identifying which platforms students use most frequently and how they perceive their own media literacy skills compared to the general public. Conducting a survey at Hanyang University, I gathered data on students' self-assessment of various media literacy competencies such as access, critical evaluation, and communication. The study highlighted that students reported weaker skills in areas related to effective consumption and critical engagement with media compared to their ability to produce media content. These findings emphasize the need for targeted media literacy education to bolster students' capabilities in navigating and assessing media content critically.PROJECTS
This was actually a book I designed for the winter program, to support high school seniors as they began preparing for their final exams. The idea came from students confusing similar-looking words, an issue that had been consistently noted in the review feedback I provided at the end of the summer session. It focuses on assisting students in distinguishing frequently mistaken vocabulary through an engaging word puzzles and mix-and-match exercises. Additionally, it features activity pages designed to help learners distinguish between words with similar starting letters, which has often been quite the problem. Each page includes a progress check section to be reviewed by teaching assistants, for systematic assessment and support. This book has proven effective, and I have continued to refine it each year by incorporating the latest vocabulary from recent exams to keep the content relevant and challenging.MIX & MATCHEXP-BOOKThis book originated from weekly worksheets I created for my students, which were eventually added up into a comprehensive workbook. Initially, I found that the example expressions included in our vocabulary textbook were highly effective, so I often had students translate or compose sentences using these examples. This approach significantly improved their reading comprehension skills and provided opportunities for students to reassess words they thought they knew but actually didn't fully understand. Due to the positive feedback, I refined these worksheets and organized them into a workbook. This resource was subsequently shared with other teachers, and it became a valuable tool not only for my students but also for others who used the same vocabulary textbook across different classes.
